W h e n   I   w a s   i n  t h e   f  i f t h   g r a d e . . .

I told my teacher, "This town is boring.  What we need is a *tornado.*
Either that, or a bowling alley.  That was January 9th, 1975 @ 3:35 PM.

	On January 10, at 8:07 AM, a TORNADO ripped

	  through two schools and a shopping

	   center narrowly missing a church

	    and a hospital.  E L V I S came

	     to town to SING a benefit

              concert at the high school.

	       But my mother would not

		let me go. She felt it

		 would be a "bad influ-
